Music Video from Tibet: "Unhealed Wound" By Dolma Tsering

After last week’s gap, the Wednesday Tibetan music video series continues today! High Peaks Pure Earth has translated a music video titled “Unhealed Wound”, written and performed by Dolma Tsering. The music video has been circulating on the internet since April 2012.
“Unhealed Wound” stands out for its politically bold lyrics that directly address China. The imagery in the music video includes detained Tibetan protesters being beaten in 2008 (footage that was released by the Tibetan exile government in December 2011) and video footage of the Dalai Lama, as mentioned in the song. Both the title and the song and some of the lyrics call to mind the songs of Amdo singer Tashi Dhondup.
This is the twenty second music video translated by High Peaks Pure Earth since the music video series started in November 2012. “Unhealed Wound”
By Dolma Tsering

To China with the dog’s tail
In the snow-capped land of Tibetans
My people of this Snowland
China, could you now leave us alone

To those evil Chinese who don’t believe in karma
The owner of this Snowland
Is His Holiness Tenzin Gyatso
China, could you now let him return

As a humble boy thinking of Tibet
For the sake of the cause of Tibetans
This precious human life of mine
Even if killed, I will have no regrets

This precious human life of mine
Even if killed, I will have no regrets
Even if killed, I will have no regrets
