Published in the UK by Pagoda Press in May 2019, this is a new biography of Lt. Col. Frederick Marshman Bailey who worked and travelled in India, Tibet and Central Asia during the first half of the twentieth century.

After taking part in the 1904 Younghusband Expedition to Tibet, he went on to explore the remotest areas of North Eastern India and the upper reaches of the Tsangpo River. During WWI he fought in France and Gallipoli, before later undertaking a dangerous secret service mission to Soviet Central Asia. In the 1920s and 1930s he served as a Political Officer in Sikkim, Bhutan, Tibet, Kashmir and Nepal.
