A Song by Thinley Gyatso: "A Heartfelt Small Bell"

High Peaks Pure Earth has translated a music video by Tibetan singer Thinley Gyatso called “A Heartfelt Small Bell” that was released in the summer of 2012 as part of an album titled “Go Higher and Higher”.
This is the twelfth weekly music video translated by High Peaks Pure Earth since the song series started in November 2012 with “Song of Sorrow” by Dawoe. Rather unusually for the music videos in this series, this video was filmed in Lhasa and the Potala Palace makes a stunning backdrop for parts of the video. Thinley Gyatso’s message of Tibetan unity and preservation of culture and language makes an uplifting song, right in time for Tibetan New Year, Losar, next Monday!
Check back next week for another powerful music video from Tibet and be sure to also go back and watch our other videos using this link: http://highpeakspureearth.com/category/music-from-tibet/
Below are the subtitled music video and translated lyrics of “A Heartfelt Small Bell” by Thinley Gyatso.

“A Heartfelt Small Bell” By Thinley Gyatso

Tibetans!
My brothers and sisters of the Snowland
My brothers and sisters
If you care for the Tibetan nation, unite
Unite!
Unite!
As long as the strength of internal unity is not relinquished
This is the happiness of my ruddy-faced Tibetans
As long as the strength of internal unity is not relinquished
This is the happiness of my ruddy-faced Tibetans

Tibetans!
My brothers and sisters of the Snowland
My brothers and sisters
If you care for our own culture, study hard
Study hard!
Study hard!
If the culture of Tibet flourishes
This is adornment for future generations
If the culture of Tibet flourishes
This is adornment for future generations

Brothers and sisters of the Snowland
Don’t stand still but move forwards
Open your eyes and look far out
Let’s go far into the realm of knowledge
Brothers and sisters of the Snowland
Don’t stand still but move forwards
Send the winds of fortune and peace
Let’s search for our dear ancestral treasures
Brothers and sisters of the Snowland
Don’t stand still but move forwards
Raise the courage of our loyalty
Let’s go out and explore the world

Tibetans!
My brothers and sisters of the Snowland
My brothers and sisters
If you care for the Tibetan nation, speak Tibetan
Speak Tibetan!
If the language of our kind forefathers remains firm
This is the glory of the three provinces of the plateau

Speak Tibetan!
If the language of our kind forefathers remains firm
This is the glory of the three provinces of the plateau
If the language of our kind forefathers remains firm
This is the glory of the three provinces of the plateau
If the language of our kind forefathers remains firm
This is the glory of the three provinces of the plateau
