A Song by Riga: "Strive Hard"

“Strive Hard” by Riga from HPeaks on Vimeo.

High Peaks Pure Earth has translated a new song by Tibetan singer Riga from Serthar in Kham called “Strive Hard”. In contrast to the music videos translated over the last few months such as “Song of Sorrow” and “What We Have is Suffering”, this song is an uplifting and positive one with which to start 2013.
Known usually for bold and outspoken songs, in “Strive Hard”, Riga addresses the song to the younger generation of Tibetans and passes on a strong message of encouragement. The song was uploaded onto YouTube in October 2012. Below are the translated lyrics.
Check back next week for another great music video from Tibet and be sure to also go back and watch our other videos using this link: http://highpeakspureearth.com/category/music-from-tibet/

“Strive Hard”
By Riga

Masters of the new era
My dear brothers and sisters
Rest your head on your hands
And breathe in
Watch out mindfully
March alongside the advanced world
Look into history
Speak of the situation
Hopes and desires are needed
Search for your direction
Develop new ideas

Surpass the ordinary
Develop self confidence
Breathe with hope
With strength and vigour
March forward
March with growing confidence

Love deeper than the ocean
My brothers and sisters
Liberate your mind
Rest your mind in tranquility
With all your strength
Search for the knowledge of honourable life
Protect the good traditions
Accumulate scientific knowledge

Strive hard!
Develop diligence!
Uphold the pledge faithfully

Study hard!
Develop capabilities!
Cultivate future happiness

Aspire to ideals!
Search for hope!
March to establish the truth

Strive hard!
Develop diligence!
Uphold the pledge faithfully

Study hard!
Develop capabilities!
Cultivate future happiness

Aspire to ideals!
Search for hope!
Claim victory for the truth
Claim victory for the truth
